I’m Stan, a Senior Offensive Security Consultant based in the Netherlands, sometimes known as Wobbat. I focus on offensive software security across a wide range of platforms and systems. I’m also neurodivergent, which means my mind jumps around a lot. Sometimes it looks chaotic, but it often leads me to unexpected, creative solutions (and some fun bypasses) that I might not find otherwise.
Outside of my work, I enjoy photography (some photos I took and am proud of can be found here), tinkering with whatever side project I am currently working on, drinking coffee, reading a good fantasy novel, and relaxing on the couch with a good show or movie.
What I do
My day-to-day is all about application security: code reviews, pentesting custom-built software for clients, and helping them lock down everything from web apps to embedded systems and complex multi-component setups. I also advise on design and strategy. The work is rarely straightforward. There is always a new technique to learn, something complicated to unravel, or a security-related question to answer which doesn’t have a clear solution.
What keeps it interesting to me is how fast everything moves. Whether it’s figuring out where AI fits in or keeping up with whatever JavaScript framework is popular this week, there’s always something new to learn. The multidisciplinary nature of the work means thinking across domains, stacks, and threat models. It’s the constant puzzle, the flexibility, and my curiosity to get beneath the surface and really understand what’s happening under the hood that makes me love this field.
I also give the occasional talk or workshop, write my own tools, and post here when something feels worth sharing.
Current focus
Right now, I’m leading the expansion into hardware, embedded, and low-level security at the company I work for. That includes firmware analysis and building in-house expertise around systems that usually fall outside typical appsec work.
Topics you’ll find here
Security, development, Linux, hacking, workflows, side projects, and sometimes photography or personal thoughts. I also write about neurodiversity and personal growth as part of understanding myself better.
